Is anything better than plugging in your headphones, firing up your music app of choice, and jamming out to that brand-new song you're obsessed with?
Don't get me wrong; I love my go-to playlists. The classics are great. But something amazing happens when I hear an awesome new track for the first time. I am filled with anticipation, enthusiasm, and pure bliss as I wonder to myself, Will the chorus be as good as the hook? or Wait — did I just discover my new favorite artist?!?!
New music is one of the best mood-boosters ever to me, and I want to share it with you. So each week, I'm pulling together the most popular (as in, they have over 100K listens within the first few days of their release) and most exciting new music out there for you to turn on, tune in, drop out to.
Let's get listening. If you have any new pieces of musical gold, leave a link in the comments below. And be sure to check next Friday for a whole new slew of songs.
A Seat At The Tabl e — Solange
Solange invites the listener to pull up a chair while she educates, serenades, and mystifies. I've included the album in its entirety because it is that good.
Video via YouTube."Fall" — Chloe x Halle
Sister duo Chloe and Halle have far surpassed their original title as "Beyoncé protégés" (they were signed to the singer's label in 2016). Their latest song is emotional, delicate, and instantly moving after just one listen.
Video via YouTube."Million Reasons" — Lady Gaga
This has been a big week for Gaga. During a bar crawl in Nashville, the singer performed three brand-new songs for small audiences. On this track, Gaga starts out a bit country and transitions into delivering an emotional power ballad. This album is sure to be a memorable one.
Video via YouTube."21 Moon Water" — Bon Iver
This soothing track will leave you in a mesmerizing trance. Make sure you listen through to the end. Chills.
Video via YouTube."Butterfly" — Grimes
Grimes surprised her fans by dropping seven new videos this week. The most colorful visuals are for "Butterfly," an adorably poppy track off her latest album, Art Angels.
